Little Blue Valley Sewer District Atherton WWTP Phase II Improvements – Incinerator Installation Project Award

MMC Contractors is the mechanical contractor responsible for above ground process piping, equipment setting, HVAC and plumbing for the Phase II improvements at Little Blue Valley Sewer District Atherton Waste Water Treatment Plant in Atherton, Missouri. The WWTP services an area of nearly 278 square miles in Jackson County, Missouri and included portions of Kansas City and surrounding suburbs.

The project consists of installing a new sludge incinerator, scrubber and process heat exchangers.  Associated material handling systems include the sand feed, sludge transfer and ash disposal systems.  Additional treatment improvements include a new belt filter press, modified conveyor system, ultraviolet treatment building and an effluent pump station.  Plant operations of 52 million gallons per day effluent flow, must be maintained throughout the improvements.

The project duration is 36 months and this is the first project for our Kansas City office for Whiting-Turner Construction.
